Wednesday Coffee: Hoping Today Goes Smoother

So yesterday and today have not exactly gone as planned, but today has gone smoother than yesterday. Yesterday I woke up groggily and slowly got ready for the gym when my mother called asking for help with electronics. So I changed out of my gym clothes and into my jeans to wait for her to arrive. The computer stayed at home since her house doesn’t like my computers for some weird reason. But I was over there for a good part of the afternoon and had a good time. Once I figured out what needed to be done it didn’t take too long to get it done.
Unfortunately, I don’t think it was what my mom thought it would be. I think it just acts as a part of a smart television when you don’t have one, but she thinks she can stream anything she has on the computer through it. The only way I know to do that is with an HDMI cord so far though. And a ROKU is better than the device she bought for streaming stuff. At least from what I have heard it is. But that is only from what I’ve heard.
Today didn’t get off to the quick start I expected since Mother Nature decided to bring snow to my friend, Lynette Lee. But we soon got back on track and finished up earlier than expected. Even with a dinner break thrown into the mix. And I got to listen to the news from the day still. Though most of it I knew already. Nothing for me to rant about yet this week, but the week is young. And I know this will be going up late and I apologize for that in advance, but it has been one of those days.
Tomorrow’s should be up more on time. I’m not even sure I will sleep tonight. I might just stay up all night writing with a little bit of reading thrown into the mix. Just feeling really good right now is all. Though that can change at times. And I keep thinking back to the days when I used to email people constantly and find myself missing the feeling of communicating through email. Don’t get me wrong I like instant messaging and all. But there is something about emailing that I enjoy especially.
It would be nice to have people to email again on a regular basis. Or just reasons to email people I know already besides sending file attachments at times or invitations to programs. Sometimes even for a chat about what book we are reading or project we are working on. Or even something we are having trouble on. As it stands right now most of what I get in my email are the equivalent of flyers. Some good and some just a pain in the butt to deal with. Would be a change to have something to look forward to in my email box.
I mean it is always a good thing when my advisor emails me back or one of my professors does. But I can’t email them all the time just because I want someone to email with. Maybe there is an answer for me on reddit. I’ll have to create an account there and see. Besides I also want to be part of more message boards as well. I keep hearing from the original posters about how awesome they used to be and I want to experience it for myself.
So it seems I have given myself some work to do in the early morning hours. But feel free to leave your questions and comments below. And if you want my posts to show up in your inbox enter your email address in the box below where it says to follow by email. As for me I am off to surf around the internet a bit and do some searching. *Tips his hat and walks out the doors heading back into the study. *

Monday Beginnings: Last Week Was Rough, Here Is To A Better Week

It was a rough week last week. A friend lost her cat, another friend had an emotional breakdown, and another friend’s kid came down sick again. But we got through the week to this week. And we can only hope this week will be better. As I’ve been trying and fairly successfully doing lately I just take it one day at a time. As well as planning as little into the future as I can. I keep it about a month at a time at most with planning and go from there.
That way I can be flexible as things change and develop. After all you never know what is going to pop up around the corner that you might want to do. I’ve booked my week to be pretty full for now, but I’m glad I have. It gets me out and doing things while keeping me on top of my studies. Though I have reading to catch up on as well. But I can do that in the gym a bit as well. Unfortunately, one of my text books only works on the computer with audio and not my phone as well or I could do studying while working out as well.
But you can’t win them all. I’m getting better at time management and knowing when I need to call on supports as well as for more than just emotional support. Like for things they can actual kick my butt into doing the stuff I want and need to be doing. They are a great help to me and I hope they know how much I appreciate their help. I may fall back as I make progress forward but I am determined to keep making progress forward no matter what.
Seems like I have been getting busier and busier lately, which I like. I still have time for reading at night and even during the day. Just have to start applying that time more regularly. But my schedule is starting to hum along in a regular pattern. Just tightening the nuts and bolts of it is all. And I know there are a few days in the month when things are just going to go haywire, so I try to plan for them as best as I can.
It works most of the time, but not always. And when it doesn’t I have to improvise. But for the most part my schedule has been falling into place fairly smoothly lately. And in a year or so my schedule will be changing again when I hopefully move. Then I will have to be making time to decorate and unpack as well as place plants. And I am looking forward to it don’t get me misconstrued. Will be a change of scenery after so many years and other changes as well.
Some things will be cut and others will be extended. If possible some things will be added. Just depends on what the budget is and how it develops. I’m determined to keep all my reading material coming in that is for sure. But I know I will have to trim some places here and there. Just have to cross that bridge when I get to it. Right now I am just thinking about tomorrow though and a little nervous to be getting started at the gym.
I mean I know it is safe and everything like that. Just not sure where to start and afraid of looking like a fool as I make my first impression there. But what eases my nerves aa bit is the fact that I am going with a friend who has been going for a while, so she can show me the ropes. It’s like coming to a new school and having an older friend be able to show you what to do and what not to do in a sense. It makes all the difference in the world.
I do apologize for this getting up so late. Been a late day all around. But feel free to leave your questions and comments below. And if you want my posts to show up in your inbox enter your email address in the box below where it says to follow by email. As for me I have a little work to finish up before calling it a day. *Tips his hat and walks out the door heading back to the study. *

Monday Reviews: Chasing Clarity

I do apologize for this being a week late. School had to come first though. But don’t let that make you think I have not enjoyed this novel. It just means I have put school at a higher priority, which any student should do when attending college. But Chasing Clarity by Sylvia Stein is an incredible read and if you are reading this and don’t have a copy yet I don’t know what you are waiting for.
She brings Mia’s story right to life from the page to your imagination. Making you feel and see everything that is going on as you read. And the words are so crisp and wonderful that you can’t help but turn page after page. You are sure to find people you know in it like I did as I was reading it. It will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride that you will want to get ride back on after getting off of.
She crafts her characters so wonderfully that it’s as if they are hoping off the page and joining you wherever you are reading the novel. They have strengths and flaws just like real human beings. You can picture them as if you had known them all your life without hesitation. You can relate to their personalities as well as their hopes and dreams. And they interact so naturally, it’s as if you are sitting amongst friends as the story plays out.
And the plot moves at a good pace with a nice flow to it. It flows as smooth as ice cream. You never want to put the book down. Even when you do have to you want to go right back to it as soon as possible. Sylvia Stein has done an amazing job in crafting this novel. So I give it five stars out of five stars. *Tips his hat and walks out the door heading back to the library. *
