Wednesday Coffee: Your Turn Ladies

             I know I said I would be lecturing the ladies yesterday but I got caught up in cleaning. And my new bed arrived. Plus, I had some school work to do that is still being finished up this morning. And I’m still working on getting organized. But within a week roughly things should be running smoothly if all goes according to plan. Which I am hoping it does and plan to do everything I can to make sure it does. But last Wednesday I lectured the guys and left off saying the ladies would be next. And here we are, but ladies I’m not trying to be harsh here either.

            I mean after all ladies we do appreciate everything you do for us and to appear your best for us. But your natural beauty is gorgeous as well. You don’t need to cover yourselves in layers of makeup just to please us. We are happy with just your natural beauty. If you are doing it for you and to express yourselves, we understand. We even pay attention to your nails to see how you express yourselves. And it isn’t a bad thing if you don’t but we do hope you treat yourselves well as well. We just like to see you spoil yourself a little so we know we can spoil you a little.

            And please ladies never think when we take you out to dinner that you have to have just a salad. When we take you out to eat we want you to eat an enjoy. Guys don’t want sticks they want a woman with curves. They also like to spoil their woman as well. I know I do. We want you to have a good time when we take you out and not worry about diets or things like that unless it is a medical thing. Medical things are something neither guys nor ladies should ignore ever.

            Also ladies never feel like you can’t speak your mind. When we ask your opinion we truly want it. We don’t mind debating civilly. We enjoy exchanging ideas. It is how we grow as human beings. As well as learn about each other in general. Disagreements are bound to happen but they can be civil. And we can learn from them as well. That is an unfortunate thing that has been lost in politics in general as of late, the art of the civil debate. But it should not be lost between all men and women. And it should not be just about politics either. It can be about books, television, movies, etc.

            Ladies also don’t feel like you have to wear uncomfortable shoes to impress us. We want you to be comfortable and not risk breaking your necks just for a look. Wear what you like to wear and expresses your personality. Not every date has to be a black tie affair. And pretty much everything you wear shows off your looks lovely. Us guys should not be the only ones comfortable on a date you should be as well. Or even just hanging out. But if you like getting all dressed up fancy and it is you then so be it.

            Last but not least remember ladies these are my opinions from what I have heard from guys. It is not universal and you are freely welcome to disagree or agree with me. Monday Reviews: Lightspeed Women Destroy Science Fiction

            I’m finally getting my first book review out in a long time. Took me a while, but it is finally happening. Anyways I finished Lightspeed: Women Destroy Science Fiction a little while ago and it was amazing. It is edited by Christie Yant who is guest editing for this special collector’s issue of Lightspeed Magazine, which is big yet manageable. It is filled with tons of great stories from women science fiction writers. Who are all extremely talented. The stories range from just futuristic to alien life forms to what ifs. It is all amazing to read. The interviews are also terrific and insightful as well.

            The editors under Yant took their responsibilities extremely seriously making sure to bring only the best of the best to this. They really show cased women’s talent in the science fiction genre in this edition of Lightspeed Magazine. I was constantly picking it up at every opportunity I got. It was what most would call a real page turner. I was constantly enthralled with every story I read and every interview I read as well. The stories had a great variation on theme as well as great variation on characters. And the characters were well developed as well.

            The interviews were thorough and right to the point. They showed off a lot of the behind the scenes to the stories as well. As well as letting readers know what to expect from the women if you liked what you read, which I would think the average reader did. Plus, they gave a little humor here and there where they could, which was nice to see. Too much seriousness can be a detraction from any interview. A bit of humor is always a good thing in interviews since it lightens the mood in my opinion.

            This special collector’s issue of Lightspeed Magazine proves that women are just as fit to write Science Fiction as men are. Plus, they add a real sense of feeling that some men miss at times. It also shows some of the other aspects of Science Fiction that most people don’t get to see as well, which is a great thing. Plus, you get a variety of characters to get to know. So taking all of those factors into account I am going to give this 4.5 stars out of 5.

Monday Beginnings: Time For A Fresh Start

            I know I have been away for several days, but things have been a bit chaotic. Between a cleaning overhaul of the apartment and my sleeping issues acting up I haven’t been up to writing much. But I am hoping to get up to a fresh start today as well as get caught up on school. Don’t gasp just yet I am only behind by one assignment. And for the next two weeks I expect to be out straight with school to a degree since my professor opened up the next three weeks’ worth of assignments completely. Allowing me to work at my own pace. So I am going to try and get ahead, even working through most of my holiday off.

            I’m hoping I can get everything done through week five by the time we get back from break and that the professor will then open the remaining weeks then. Or at least shortly after that. Yes, I’ve pretty much found my groove once more and I’m going full steam ahead with it. But don’t worry I will still take time for free writing and reading as well. Plus, I will be taking time to get out of the house a bit beyond just appointments. Thinking of hitting the movies a couple of times a week. And the library at least once a week. Depending on what is going on. As well as maybe going out for coffee here and there.

            Since going out for coffee would allow me to work at the same time and I find coffee relaxing. And I can combine coffee with the movies sometimes, or just do it on its own. Plus, I am going to work on going over to friends’ houses more often. Still trying to figure it all out but it will come to me eventually. I know I have a lot of options at my disposal for lack of a better way of saying it, but I have to figure out how to balance it all. That is the key to it all after all. But I am sure I will figure it out eventually, just have to listen to my gut a bit more. But for the most part it is going to have to wait till next week.

            Since for most of this week I am booked up fairly solid. Between deliveries and appointments along with projects going on it is just crazy. Luckily I have most of the blog mapped out for the week. There is still some that is in the dark but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. But today is the first step into a fresh start. And even with my sleeping issues acting up I am grabbing at it the best I can. I’m taking advantage of when I do have energy and trying to straighten out my sleeping pattern today.

            Hopefully I have enough coffee to keep me awake till late tonight so I sleep like I want to. I also seen my psychiatrist on Thursday and will be asking for another script for Melatonin. Hopefully that will help me sleep better at night. I’m going to try and make it work better this time. I’m making more of an effort than ever before to try and get more of my issues sorted out. It’s hard I admit but I know it is worth it.  

            So since I am getting this out so early hopefully there will be a double post today. No guarantees though other than I will do my best. And tomorrow it is the ladies turn to be lectured since I lectured the guys last week. Don’t worry ladies it won’t be that bad. But for now feel free to leave your questions and comments below.
